The objective was to redesign the client’s existing website to more effectively communicate the gallery’s offerings, with a focus on highlighting current events, exhibitions, and programs. In addition, the client requested a commemorative logo to mark the gallery’s 60th anniversary. The scope of work also included the design of exterior banner signage to promote this milestone and enhance visibility on the street.
Strategy
Crux Design approached the website redesign by refining and elevating the existing structure, improving clarity, organization, and overall visual hierarchy. The new design places greater emphasis on showcasing artwork, programs and events while ensuring information is communicated clearly and effectively. The color system used anchored the brand in its signature blue palette while incorporating accent colors to enhance depth and visual interest. The commemorative 60th anniversary logo was designed with clarity and hierarchy in mind, utilizing variations of blue to distinguish the primary mark from the “60th” and “anniversary” elements. This approach ensured strong legibility while maintaining visual cohesion with the existing brand. The same design language was extended across the exterior signage, creating a consistent and unified identity across applications.
Result
The redesigned website for Blue Line Arts gallery has been highly successful, effectively addressing prior challenges related to navigation and clarity of communication. The improved structure and user experience have enhanced accessibility and more clearly showcase the gallery’s programs, offerings and latest shows.
